Mission Loans is seeking mortgage and technology professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment without losing focus on quality of work and delivering an exceptional customer experience. We operate in an agile promotion model that follows a consistent SDLC for development, promotion, testing, and deployments. We seek a candidate with prior mortgage experience that can support the very detailed and intricate updates required to maintain a compliant system, while maintaining a quality output, with a streamlined process. As an IT Business Analyst, your primary mission is to support the IT organization to define, develop, test and deploy business system solutions that enable the Mission Loans team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in all phases of systems implementation including gathering and documenting requirements, functional and technical design, development and testing, and implementation support
  • Ownership and management of ticket tracking applications (such as azure, JIRA, Black Knight, DocuTech) including (i) logging tickets and change management requests, (ii) prioritization, (iii) tracking timely, effective resolution through to ticket close, (iv) prepare reporting dashboards and communication, and (iv) escalation to leadership, as necessary
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers to troubleshoot and triage tickets, determine root cause, solutioning and testing to effective delivery of the resolution, change request and/or functionality
  • Partner with business leadership to identify functionality / business needs designed to drive greater efficiency, innovation and optimal customer experience and translate to documented business requirements that can be actioned by the IT organization and its external partners
  • Conduct research, testing and analysis of business requirements, problems and available technologies to support development and delivery of technology solutions that increase efficiency, effectiveness and ensure compliance
  • Lead and participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing including such activities as: (i) documenting use cases, (ii) running QA / UAT test cases, (iii) logging tickets for triage, (iv) problem solving and adjusting business requirements/ use cases accordingly and (v) tracking re-testing and resolution of tickets
  • Support implementation activities such as designing training materials, scheduling deployment and promoting releases to production to ensure delivery of desired business functionality with minimal disruption to business operations
  • Lead small- to medium-sized, moderately complex technology projects that impact customer solutions and business operations
  • Support management of documentation “wiki” references, guides, and maintain change control tracking for all production related changes <this bullet and the next bullet were lifted from config analyst JD>
  • Support business operations with production issues, triage, and expeditious resolution
  • Operate with a goal to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Operate in a manner that promotes loan quality and compliance with lending laws.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a business analyst in an IT organization, candidates with mortgage experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, computer technologies and their relationship to business functions, practices and processes
  • Experience working with the following software: Empower WEB, JIRA/Azure, Sequel
  • Basic understanding of agency & investor underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures preferred
  • Basic knowledge of compliance, with state and federal regulations applicable to loan fulfillment preferred
  • Intermediate math skills; adept at writing queries, understanding expression values and sequel, C#
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
